Dr. Ryan Bygness

Dr. Ryan Bygness is a trusted dentist near Carroll who has years of experience helping patients improve their oral health and enjoy more beautiful smiles. As the lead dental professional at 32 & U Family Dental & Orthodontic Arts, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, sharing it with a qualified team of experts who keep our office running smoothly.

After completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Iowa, he worked part-time within the College of Dentistry. There, he discovered a passion for the field thanks to the professors and many dental experts surrounding him. Opting to take the Dental Aptitude Test, he scored high enough to be accepted into dental school.

After graduating from the university’s College of Dentistry, he earned a certificate in orthodontics from the American Orthodontic Society in 2013. Since that time, Dr. Bygness has continued to pursue educational opportunities that allow him to hone and refine his skills. This includes 400 hours solely devoted to orthodontics. In 2015, he earned a dental implant certificate from the Spear Dental Institute in Scottsdale, AZ, making it possible for him to place these prosthetics in a patient experiencing tooth loss.

However, if he had to choose between dental implants or orthodontics, he admits he enjoys providing orthodontic treatment more. The reason is that he can help others change the way they see their smile by realigning teeth for healthier, more beautiful appearances.

Apart from his work in the office, Dr. Bygness remains active in various professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Iowa Lakes Dental Society, The Dawson Academy, The American Orthodontic Society, and The Academy of General Dentistry. This allows him to converse with his peers on various topics as well as discover new and advanced techniques he can incorporate into his practice.

And when he’s not in the office, he and his wife, and their four children, enjoy playing baseball and attending football games. He is also known to spend time boating, golfing, and traveling.
